Elephant Collection: Baby Booties

Elephant Collection: Baby Booties

Need a sweet baby gift? These adorable elephant baby booties will do the trick! I fell in love when I saw these on one of my favourite crochet blogs, Hopeful Honey, and they simply had to be included in the Elephant Collection. What is the Elephant Collection? It’s a series of posts on Pretty In Crochet that showcases elephant themed crochet patterns. Why elephants? Because they are beautiful creatures that I have fallen in love with, and because they are endangered. I hope to raise some awareness about these magnificent species and provide you with some cute crochet projects too.

Everywhere I go these days, I always notice elephants. I see them a lot in jewelry (another passion of mine) and I own several pieces. Elephant earrings, elephant rings, I’m looking for an elephant pedant too. I feel hip wearing my elephant pieces, especially my crochet elephant pieces. It saddens me to know this species is endangered.

Did You Know

  • there are two species of elephants, African and Asian
  • both species need extensive areas of land to survive
  • elephants consume hundreds of pounds of plant matter in one day
  • they come into conflict with humans due to the fact they require such large areas to roam
  • elephants however are integral to biodiversity
  • want to help?

I have not made these elephant baby booties myself, but I’ve created several pieces using the patterns by Olivia on Hopeful Honey. They are easy to follow patterns so I can vouch for the pattern being one you’ll likely enjoy making if you enjoy making baby items. Plus, they are so cute that they must be fun to make in my opinion. I’m kinda wishing I had a wee little one to hook these baby booties up for myself! But I am working on another Elephant Collection project, so it’s all good. The elephant baby booties are a free pattern and detailed instructions are provided with some helpful photos.

I hope you have fun with these cute elephant booties! The next Elephant Collection post will be in a month, so subscribe to the blog to make sure you don’t miss out.
