Boho Crochet Bag: Sunny Days Crochet Collection

Boho Crochet Bag: Sunny Days Crochet Collection

This boho crochet bag is a funky summer accessory, lightweight and large enough to hold summer extras such as sunscreen. This would stylize an causal outfit such as jean shorts and a tank, and is sure to add a unique element to your day outing. Made in the round, this bag will allow an experienced beginner to really spread their wings.

Perfect for the free spirit or teen in your life, the boho crochet bag uses Caron Cotton Cakes yarn, and the colours play out beautifully in this project. And there are tons of other colours to choose from as well to really add a splash of colour to your summer!

This pattern is adjustable, so if you are taller, please add 3-4 inches to the length of the strap as I measured it to my own height of 5′ 1″. Also, if you want a smaller bag, simply crochet less rounds than indicated.

Pattern

Circular Body (make 2)

Pattern Notes: Ch 2 at beginning of each round does not count as a hdc stitch. Please note this resulted in an odd curving line moving up the piece. I chose to cover it with the flower embellishment and the strap, but you might chose to use the standing stitch method to avoid this climbing ladder look.

Flower

I found the pattern for the flower on Ravelry. It was quick and easy.

Assembly

Sew on flower being sure to place it over the climbing ladder affect. Be sure to sew your button to the centre of the flower first, and stitch down any floppy petals.

Align the two circular pieces together now, flower facing outwards, and being sure that the right side of your side piece faces outwards as well, with the climbing ladder facing the top. Single crochet around working through the stitches of both circles but be sure to leave a 15 stitch opening. You can accomplish this by working through only the front stitches of your front piece. On the back, attach the strap being sure to cover the climbing ladder. Be sure not to twist the strap, and attach the strap to the front, four rows down from the top row.

I hope you have as much fun as I did hooking up this boho crochet bag. Questions, comments, email me jewels@prettyincrochet.com. And be sure to never miss a pattern by subscribing to the blog.
